Hundreds of questions, one search

Put a searchable question bank on your TI-84 Plus CE.

Upload a PDF containing multiple-choice questions, answers, explanations, free-response prompts, or rubrics. CiNotes organizes the material and builds calculator files you can browse and search offline.

Question bank in. Searchable calculator library out. Type a topic, open the matching question, and move between results. You can probably imagine a few use cases. Wink.

What CiNotes preserves

Multiple-choice questions

Question text and answer choices become individual, readable entries.

Answers and explanations

Keys and explanations can remain with the questions they belong to.

Free-response material

Long prompts, worked solutions, and rubrics use a layout suited to longer text.

Topic search

Search across the full bank and jump between every matching entry.

How to prepare the PDF

Two formatting rules matter

  • One question type per PDF. Keep multiple-choice and free-response material in separate PDFs.
  • Keep answers with their questions. The answer key or rubric may be interleaved or placed at the end, but it must be inside the same PDF.

A separate answer-key-only file cannot reliably be matched back to another PDF. Combining the bank and its key before upload gives the processor the context it needs.

How it works on the calculator

The main menu shows the number of available entries. Search for a term, browse the results, and use the left and right keys to move between matching questions. The relevant word is highlighted in each result.

Still there after a reset

The question bank survives a normal RAM clear.

The CiNotes program, bank data, search index, pairing, and saved position live in Archive memory. Clearing RAM does not delete them. Yes, that is convenient. Very convenient.

Question-bank FAQ

How large can the bank be?

CiNotes splits large collections across multiple calculator data files while presenting them as one searchable library. Available calculator storage is the practical limit.

Can a PDF contain both MCQs and FRQs?

Split them into separate PDFs first. Each PDF should contain one structural type so neither format is lost during extraction.

Can I search answer text too?

The converted entries are searchable, including retained answer and explanation text when it is part of the processed question material.

Can I upload a publisher’s bank?

You are responsible for having permission to upload the material. CiNotes deletes uploaded and generated working files after delivery; the Terms explain the content requirements.

Too many questions to scroll. Easy enough to search.

Upload the bank and let CiNotes organize it.
