STEP 1

What you received

After purchase, you'll get an email with two things:

  1. A .zip file containing your calculator files
  2. A 6-digit setup code for your specific calculator

Unzip the file. Inside you'll find:

You need all of these files. Don't skip any.

STEP 2

Transfer to your calculator

You need TI Connect CE software to send files from your computer to your TI-84 Plus CE.

  1. Download TI Connect CE from education.ti.com and open it.
  2. Required Libraries: Go to tiny.cc/clibs. Scroll down to the "Assets" section at the bottom of the page, and click on clibs.8xg to download it.
  3. Connect your calculator to your computer using the USB charging cable.
  4. In the TI Connect CE app, click the Calculator Explorer tab (the icon with multiple stacked squares).
  5. Select all the .8xp and .8xv files from your downloaded zip folder, plus the clibs.8xg file you just downloaded.
  6. Drag and drop them all directly into the calculator window and wait for the transfer to finish.
The transfer order doesn't matter. Just make sure every file from the zip gets sent over, as well as the clibs.8xg file.
STEP 3

Launch the program

Press PRGM to open the program menu, then scroll to NOTESMC or NOTESFRQ and press ENTER twice.

If your order includes both MCQ and FRQ content, they'll be split into two separate programs for convenience. They work the same way.

Getting "ERROR: VALIDATION" or "SYNTAX"?
Some newer calculators need a quick, free compatibility step called arTIfiCE before they can run custom programs. Watch the tutorial here to fix it!
STEP 4

Set up (first time only)

The first time you run the program, you'll see a setup screen:

3. Setup complete!
Press any key, type the 6-digit setup code from your email using the number pad, and press ENTER.

You'll see "Setup complete!" and you're in. You only have to do this once.

If you got the calculator files from a friend and do not have a setup code yet, use cinotes.com/setup. Enter the Reference Code and Calculator ID shown on your calculator, and you'll get the correct code for your own device.

STEP 5

Main menu

After loading your notes, you'll see the main menu:

3 Pick up exactly where you left off last time
CLEAR Save your spot and exit to the calculator home screen
3 Resume only appears after you've viewed notes at least once. It remembers your exact position, search query, and scroll offset.
STEP 6

Searching for a topic

Press 1 from the main menu to search. You'll see the text input screen:

How to type on a calculator

The calculator keys normally type numbers. To type letters:

ALPHA Type one letter (the green label above each key), then goes back to numbers
2ND + ALPHA Lock alpha mode — every key types its letter until you press ALPHA again
0 (in alpha mode) Type a space
DEL Backspace
ENTER Submit your search
CLEAR Cancel and go back to the menu
Recommended: Press 2ND then ALPHA first to lock alpha mode, type your search term, then press ENTER.

After pressing ENTER, matching notes appear in the viewer with your search term highlighted.

STEP 7

Reading notes

The note viewer shows one note at a time with a scrollbar on the right. If you searched for a keyword, it will be automatically highlighted.

RIGHT Jump to the next note
LEFT Go back to the previous note
ENTER Jump to the next keyword match within this note (search mode only)
CLEAR Return to the main menu (your position is saved)

The status bar at the bottom tells you:

If a note is long, use ENTER to hop between keyword matches instead of scrolling manually. It jumps directly to each highlighted occurrence.
STEP 8

Exiting safely

There are two ways to leave the program:

Next time you open the program, press 3 on the main menu to resume exactly where you stopped.
